Porsche 911 Carrera S Coupé 50-Years Anniversary Model
Porsche
Car No. 90
7/2013
Motor: 3,8 L
From the 2013/2014 model, Porsche wanted to mark the 50th anniversary of the presentation of the first 911, and it was marked with a special anniversary model.
Production was limited to 1.963 specimens, marking the year the 911 was launched for the first time. The anniversary model was based on a 911 Carrera S with rear-wheel-drive and a 3.8-l engine, but the body was the wider Carrera 4 S version.
The special edition was delivered with a newly developed 20” alloy wheel in matt black and highly finished aluminium as a tribute to the classic FUCHS wheels that dominated the 911 model for so many years, starting with the launch of the first 911 S model in 1966.
It was only launched in three unique colours: A light graphite grey, a dark geyser grey and a black. The special 911 50 logo was mounted on the car. The instruments were “à la” the old classic green, extra chrome was added to the car, and the interior was generally “given an extra treat”. You could choose between a 7-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed PDK. The interior was with Pepita patterned seats like in the very first 911 models.
The model sold out in a very short time.
History
The Porsche dealer in Denmark was assigned two specimens of this car, and I was able to buy one of them. I ordered it in the beautiful bright colour that changes with the light and with a 7-speed manual transmission to maintain the classic feeling. The car was produced in July 2013, and I get it delivered as a 2014 model with vehicle number 1576 out of a total of 1.763 specimens produced.
With the power kit, it has 430 hp and with all the extras, I find it to be one of the most satisfying Porsches to drive from the newer releases.
