Porsche 356 A models are one of the most preferred models among the 356 enthusiasts due to the body design, and due to the fact that it was the first model installed with a 1600 CC engine starting with 60 hp.
By coincidence I found this Porsche 356 A Coupé as a T2 model, the very first produced of the T2 generation from April 1957. T2 model had the teardrop taillights and some other minor improvements compared to the T1 model, but my specimen with chassis no. 100001 was factory supplied with 1300 CC engine type 506/2 with 44 hp.
The vehicle is in a very original untouched condition with a light restauration of engine overhaul going more than 20 years back.
The colour is silver metallic with a dark green interior.
Sold to a German owner from new and in this owner’s possession for more than 20 years in the south of Germany. Then it got sold to a Belgian owner, who frequently was doing “gentlemen” racing at the Spa classic racetrack in Belgium.
I have now applied for Danish registration and this 1300 CC engine is somehow even more alive than the standard 1600 CC engine. At least it surprisingly feels like it.
The vehicle is quite new to my collection – from October 2022.
