This specimen is actually one of my first 356 models, which I bought for my collection, and again it was found by coincidence. While reading the newspaper, I found out that a Dane living south of Los Angeles, decided to move back to Denmark. He wanted to bring this beautiful car, he had bought from new in 1960 in CA, in order to give some extra joy to his retirement. However, a few years after putting the car on Danish licence plates, the man suffered from an eye disease which meant he could no longer maintain his driver’s licence. I sent him a letter saying that if he ever decided to sell the car, I would like to be the proud new owner. Nothing happened! However, after a bit more than one year, I finally got a letter telling me that he found that it was time to sell. I was interested in building up a car collection and he was willing to talk to me. I travelled to Copenhagen to meet him, had a test drive and the Roadster changed owner.
