BMW E9 is a series of 2-door Coupé models, which were produced 1968-75 at the Karmann factories in Germany.
It was produced with motors from 2,5 to 3,2 l (4-cyl.) ending with M30 6-cyl. series.
It replaced the 200C and 2000CS models in 1968 and was followed by the BMW 6 Coupé series (E24) in 1975.
A total of 6.283 vehicles of the 2800CS models were produced 1968-72, and it was the second most popular E9 model (after the 3.0CSI).
The 2800CS engine was actually the same 2788CC engine as used in E3 Sedans, and it produced 168 hp.
My fine specimen – bought in
Autumn 2022 - in silver metallic was originally Danish and was originally sold from Roskilde, Zealand.
Except from a re-finish some years back, the vehicle is unrestored and very well-kept both on the outside and inside.
BBS rims and Italian NARDI wooden sports steering wheel have been installed subsequently, but the original ones are in my possession.
The vehicle was used in the film about the famous Danish actor Preben Kaas, that will premiere du-
ring Spring 2023.
